Space Science Days - 2020

On October 4, 1957 the launch of Sputnik-1 marked the beginning of the Space Age.

To commemorate the event IKI hosts the Space Science Days — an annual special event for space scientists, students, and everyone interested in space.

Space Science Days are supported by the Russian Academy of Sciences and registered as an event of UN World Space Week on October 4–10.

The main event of IKI Space Science Days 2020 is International Conference “Space Plasma Science – Perspectives for Coming Decades”, dedicated to IKI 55th anniversary and 80-year Jubilee of academician Albert Galeev, the director of IKI in 1988-2002.

This year the conference goes hybrid, with both offline and online talks, livestreamed on YouTube.

Unfortunately, the pandemic situation this year is still unfavourable, so that IKI Doors Open Day would not follow, as usual, the scientific program. Meanwhile, you may enjoy a virtual tour along IKI's exhibition and get to know several not widely known facts about its history (both in Russian).
